Howdy, wine drinker.
I’m Jacob from I Want You to Drink More Wine.
Today, I’ll be sharing an honest wine review and suggesting a pairing that complements this wine perfectly.
Today, we’re going to be pairing a Vouvray Chenin Blanc with a salad.
I call it my sweet salad pairing.
Let’s go ahead and check out our wine.
Famille Bougrier Grande Réserve Vieilles Vignes Chenin Blanc Vouvray 2015
We have a Famille.
This is going to be 11 and 1/2 percent alcohol, Vouvray Chenin Blanc.
You can see here a whole deliciousness.
And surprisingly, this wine is not very expensive.
This is their Grande Reserve 2015.
And I believe it’s going to go nice, because of the 11 and 1/2 percent alcohol, with our salad that we have for you as our pairing today.
We have an apple, goat cheese salad deliciousness with poppy seed dressing.
Let me just jump in and show it to you.
Apple Walnut Goat Cheese Salad
Got a whole bunch of goodness going on here.
And I’m just going to go ahead and mix it up, get the goat cheese.
It’s got some walnut in there.
Sweet, delightful, and a match made in wine and food pairing heaven.
Just like yin and yang, perfection.
I’m still eating it because it’s delicious.
But you have to try it.
And if you’re going to get this Grande Reserve Chenin Blanc Vouvray 2016, three and a half stars on Vivino.
Now, let me say something.
The wine alone is excellent–11 and 1/2 percent alcohol, nice little sweetness, residual sugar, maybe slightly.
However, with this pairing, it skyrockets.
I would make this four easily.
You have to try this wine.
You have to try this goat salad, so many words in this salad name.
But it’s phenomenal.
Just try it.
Let me know what you think.
And until our next video, take care.
