Howdy, wine drinker.
I’m Jacob from I Want You to Drink More Wine.
Today I’ll be sharing an honest wine review and suggesting a pairing that complements that wine perfectly.
Today we’re going to be pairing a sparkling and a soup.
Let’s go ahead and check out our wine.
Szigeti Grüner Veltliner Brut
We’ve got a new one for me today.
I’ve never had this before.
This is a Grüner Veltliner, a sparkling wine done by the traditional method.
This is pronounced Szigeti I believe, and it’s out of Austria, non vintage.
And I’m excited to see how this goes with the pairing.
We have a pretty simple pairing, yet it’s complex because of all the deliciousness that Katie put into it, all the love.
Let’s go ahead and check it out.
Asparagus and Tarragon Velouté
We’ve got an asparagus–I hope you can see it because it’s so beautiful I don’t even want to move it.
An asparagus and tarragon velouté.
I don’t know if you can see, it’s moving.
Let’s go ahead and pour this sparkling, give it a try, and see what it’s like.
All right, here’s a first for me.
I love Grüner Veltliner, so when I found out there was a sparkling I said, I had to try it.
It’s something new.
It’s not really an expensive wine.
Oh, this is amazing.
Grüner in my opinion basically goes with everything, but who am I. Let’s give it a try.
See all that?
We have a little creme fraiche, asparagus, a little olive oil in here.
Oh, that’s good.
Szigeti for the win.
Asparagus and tarragon velouté.
And if you’re going to give this wine, the sparkling Grüner Veltliner, a try, by Szigeti, Vivino says 3.8.
Average price $20.55.
Let’s see, number of buying options.
Oh, a ton of buying options.
Give this pairing a try.
Let me know what you think.
And until our next video, take care.
