Howdy, wine drinker.

I’m Jacob from I Want You to Drink More Wine.

In this video, I’m going to share an honest wine review and suggest a pairing that complements this wine perfectly.

Today, we’re going to be pairing one of my favorites, chocolate cake, and a California red blend.

Let’s go ahead and check out our wine.

Apothic Crush Red Blend 2015

You can see here we have a 2015 Apothic Red Blend out of California.

This is going to be a simple, straightforward, full-bodied red wine.

I think it may have a Petite Sirah or Pinot Noir in here.

It’s a Bordeaux-style blend.

It says notes of caramel and a velvety smooth mouthfeel.

So why not chocolate cake?

Let’s see how it is.

Let’s check out this pairing.

Double Dark Chocolate Cake

Now, Katie is super proud of this, so she said you have to show the full cake.

And I said OK.

She’s got our little logo in there.

This looks delicious.

You can see we have more icing.

I can’t wait any more.

I’m going to take a slice of this, and I’ve got to try this pairing right now.

Let’s check it out.

Double Chocolate Deliciousness!

I’m going to jump right in, take a bite, and see how this goes together.

Oh, wow.

That is amazing.

I love chocolate cake.

This is delicious.

I’m hoping this Apothic Red Blend goes really well.

Now, what I learned about this wine is it’s supposed to be a little sweet.

It’s not really sweet, but it tastes that way.

So let’s give it a try with our chocolate cake, one more bite.

I’m ready to go.

Let’s do it.

So I took one more bite, and let’s give it a try.

Easy to me.

I feel a little bit in my throat.

Don’t know about–oh, wow.

That’s really good.

The blend, the fruit, the dark fruits, go really well with this dark chocolate.

I don’t see anything about the alcohol on here, but you have to try this.

I was not expecting this to be as good as it is.

So if you want this chocolate, this dark chocolate cake, get the recipe right here.

And if you’re going to get the wine, Vivino says average price, $10.99.

Let’s see how many, buy an option.

Oh, five or six.

I think I got this at Lucky’s Market.

Check out this pairing.
